It's not a fundraiser.
It's inexpensive (but buy your tickets SOON, before the price goes up).
It's a Movie Night, brought to you by the wonderful folks at FilmOut San Diego (and we are helping to promote it), but it's a really, really huge Movie Night. I've written about it here and here.
Our last Movie Night, June 2013.
We've had three Movie Nights so far.
One of the blessings of living in San Diego is that we have an astonishingly large network of wonderful folks who don't get out much, but when they DO, then we can take over an entire theater, filling 700 seats! No other city can do that with just one affinity-group.It's a Level Three Event, meaning that it's truly Tribal, and it's way beyond what most folks expect as a social occasion. It's meant to help us all to feel interconnected, joyful and intensely sociable.
It's designed to impact every single person in the nicest possible way.
There's no dress code, but there WILL be a Gear Contest (they have become a delightful tradition) for those folks who feel like dressing up. We're coming up with other ideas to entertain and delight, and we are still soliciting suggestions for extra fun! For instance - After the movie, bring your ticket stub to the Eagle (a block and a half away) for a drink special, and swap favorite lines from the movie with your buddies (there will be a lot of them!)
We just want YOU (and your favorite friends) to laugh your ass off!
One-seventh of the folks who showed up for the last Movie Night.
I specifically requested The Ritz as our next movie, because it was time for a comedy, but I wanted the BEST comedy of all - I've seen it at least twenty times, but never in a theater with hundreds of like-minded folks who GET ALL OF THE HUMOR! I consider it to be every bit as funny as any other comedy that you could name in the history of film.
Let's have a great time!
