Decades ago, I asked many, many questions of random strangers.  This was in the long-ago, pre-Internet digital age when somebody had a PC running a “BBS” (Bulletin Board System).

I had to hook one of these modems to my telephone, in order for my computer to connect to the server, miles away.  This video is a reasonable representation of what that was like.

I had no idea that I was witnessing the beginning of the end for gay leather bars.  Once we could post naked pictures of ourselves along with some self-descriptive text (scanners took forever to show up), then the idea of standing around in a bar became a lot less attractive.  Your online profile could do the work for you.

I was keenly curious about the different things that brought gay males together to seek partners who could share our personal kinks and fetishes.  I had no idea WHY some things could cause a man to spontaneously orgasm, and which left ME unaffected.

 I remember asking “What is it about boots that is such a turn-on for you?  Why does it make you want to use your tongue on my boots?”  The response came back:  “It’s not about the boots, really - I want to do honor to the man IN the boots.”

I heard an urban legend a few months back, explaining why some folks are into feet as a sexual object of erotic desire… Evidently, the folds in the brain can touch each other, so that the part in charge of sexual desire is pressing against the part that has to do with feet.

I make it sound so plausible, and it very likely isn’t even close to the truth.  Who knows?

WHY is Not the Point

I could stand in front of a whiteboard and draw diagrams that logically explain individual desires, but it would be foolish.  Desire is NOT LOGICAL.  Desire is animalistic.  Instinctive.

The desires that drive us are why kinky folks do what we do - To get the hell out of the normal daily existence, and be lusty BEASTS for a while.

For a good chuckle, google the phrase “Tumblr Extreme Porn.”  There is stuff out there that represents a perfectly natural desire that pleases somebody, but is unnatural and utterly baffling to YOU.  That’s just how the world is.
